Mr. McKenna is a lawyer with more than 40 years experience in commercial, construction and international arbitration and litigation. He has served as both an arbitrator and as an advocate in numerous multi-million dollar disputes involving multiple parties and national and international businesses. Mr. McKenna is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, and has also been selected as a party appointed arbitrator. He has served as a Special Master in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County and presided over jury trials and a non-jury trial. He has also served as a Special Master in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a past President of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and is a member of the American Law Institute, the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, The American Bar Association, The Pennsylvania Bar Association and other professional organizations. Mr. McKenna has experience in Germany, Italy and other parts of Western Europe, as well as Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. He spent two years living in Dubai, UAE where he handled numerous arbitrations administered by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration, the London Court of International Arbitration and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre. Mr. McKenna has experience in many industries including energy, metals (steel and aluminum), pharmaceutical, finance, infrastructure, engineering and construction. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America in three litigation categories: commercial, construction and 'bet-the company' litigation. Mr. McKenna also serves as a mediator, and has completed the mediation training of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He has published articles in the Pittsburgh Legal Journal, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for CLE Programs, The Legal Intelligencer, and the International Bar Association's International Litigation News, as well as other publications. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh and Federal Circuits and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
